How We Approach Wedding Audio

Good wedding audio is invisible until it's missing. Here's what actually happens behind the scenes to capture clean sound.

Filmmaker capturing a candid moment

Nobody notices good audio. They notice bad audio — vows lost to wind, a speech drowned out by a badly placed microphone. Sound is quietly the most technical part of what we do, and the part couples think about least.

Two microphones, minimum

We lav mic both partners for the ceremony and run a secondary recorder as backup. Outdoor ceremonies get windshields regardless of forecast — Mediterranean weather changes faster than anyone expects.

We talk to your officiant beforehand

A quick conversation the day before means we know where they'll stand and whether they're using their own PA system. It's a small thing that prevents almost every audio problem we've ever had.

Speeches get their own setup

Reception audio is its own challenge — clinking glasses, moving chairs, a room that wasn't designed for sound. We run a dedicated feed from the venue's PA where possible, with a handheld backup for anyone who steps away from the microphone.
